8th INTERNATIONAL COMPOSITION PRIZE SEM 2023

The evaluation phase for the scores for the "8th International Composition Prize SEM 2023" has been completed.

The international jury, made up of DANIELE ZANETTOVICH (President - Italy), GILBERTO BOSCO (Italy), DIMITRI CERVO (Brazil), FERRER FERRÁN (Spain), DONALD SOSIN (USA), after careful evaluation, in-depth examination and mutual exchanges of opinions and observations, decided to award:

 

FIRST PRIZE - OUVERTURE NEOROMANTICA IN D MINOR by Vasiliy Vertogradskiy (Russia)

 

The score will be performed during the symphonic concert of the XXVI FVG International Music Meeting on 29 July 2023 in Sacile, Teatro Zancanaro, will receive the prize of € 2,500 and will be published by the publishing house Pizzicato Verlag Helvetia.

It is a source of great satisfaction for us to have received so many valuable compositions in a variety of interesting styles from composers of all ages from different parts of the world. Ensemble Serenissima would like to thank all those who participated and the international jury for their hard work and professionalism.

VASILIY VERTOGRADSKIY (1995) - First Prize

Composer and musician, after attending the Moscow State College of Musical Performance "F.Chopin" he continued his studies at the Moscow Regional Basic College of Music "A.N.Skryabin" where he graduated in 2017 in the classes of cello, viola, piano and composition with Boldyreva Natalya Anatolyevna. He is currently enrolled at the Russian State Pedagogical University "A.I.Herzen" to study music in theatre. He collaborates with important performers and musicians, such as Azat Divaev with whom he records some successful pieces of music, such as Fujiyama, Shambala, From mouth to the sky and his compositions are often performed in public concerts. He participates in numerous national and international competitions with excellent results. In 2016 he was awarded a prize in the All-Russian competition of violinists and cellists “Irina Oganesyan” and received an honourable mention in the International Composition Competition 2023 of Vienna Classical Music Academy with the piece “Sinfoniette N.2 for String Orchestra”.
