The evaluation phase of the scores submitted for the 10th International Composition Prize SEM 2025, promoted by Ensemble Serenissima APS of Sacile, has now been completed.
The international jury, composed of Daniele Zanettovich (President – Italy), Gilberto Bosco (Italy), Dimitri Cervo (Brazil), Ferrer Ferrán (Spain), and Donald Sosin (USA), after a careful analysis of the submitted works and an in-depth critical discussion, unanimously decided to award the Prize to the composition:
LIFE CELEBRATION by Jean-Charles Gandrille (France)
The piece will be premiered during the symphonic concert of the XXIX FVG International Music Meeting, which will take place on July 26, 2025, at the Zancanaro Theater in Sacile. The work will receive a €2,500 award and will be published by Pizzicato Verlag Helvetia.

Born in 1982, Jean-Charles Gandrille is a French composer active on the international contemporary classical music scene. His work is marked by an intense and luminous style, blending spirituality, formal mastery, and a distinctive sensitivity to orchestral and choral textures.
He has received numerous awards in prestigious international composition competitions. Among the most recent are the Second Prize at the OneSong Taiwan International Orchestral Composition Competition (2025), the Special Prize at the Mansurian International Composition Competition in Armenia (2024), and the First Grand Prize at the Sacred Music International Composition Competition of the Fernando Rielo Foundation in Madrid (2023). Earlier in his career, he won First Prize at the Valentino Bucchi International Composition Competition in Rome (2001) and earned accolades in several international organ improvisation contests in France and Germany.
Gandrille studied at the Paris National Conservatory of Music, where he earned awards in orchestration, harmony, counterpoint, fugue, analysis, and organ improvisation. He also studied with Jean-Louis Florentz, a decisive influence on his artistic path.
His works have been performed in prestigious venues. Notably, he has had a long-standing collaboration with the Choir of Notre-Dame de Paris, for which he composed several works, including Magnificat, Éternel est son Amour, and the recent Messe O Sacrum Convivium, commissioned for the cathedral's reopening in 2024. On the orchestral stage, his Minimalist Concerto and Violin Concerto were premiered by the Qatar Philharmonic Orchestra, among many other commissioned works performed across France, Belgium, and Armenia.
His music is published and recorded by labels such as Warner Classics and Paraty, and many of his performances and recordings can be found on his official YouTube channel, offering a rich panorama of his musical output.
Pedro Salinas Robles is a Spanish composer and conductor whose artistic journey reflects both versatility and a deep commitment to contemporary creation. Since 2020, he has dedicated himself entirely to composition, quickly emerging as a distinctive voice on the international scene. That same year, he enrolled at the Conservatorio Superior de Alicante, where he graduated with the highest honors in 2023. His intense creative activity has earned him numerous awards, and his works have been performed by renowned ensembles across Europe and Asia.
Among his most notable achievements are the First Prize at the 7th SEM Symphonic Composition Competition in Sacile (Venice), which led to the premiere and publication of his work Things That Happened on February 24, the Second Prize at the Vienna International Composition Competition (orchestral category), and prizes or mentions in competitions held in Italy, Malaysia, China, and Austria. His composition Pandemic Tales for string quartet was recognized at the Universiti Teknologi Mara competition, while his orchestral and chamber music continues to attract international attention.
In parallel with his work as a composer, Salinas Robles has developed a strong profile as a conductor. He has led numerous symphonic bands and orchestras, both in Spain and abroad, often collaborating with celebrated soloists such as Maurice André, Pedro Iturralde, and Denis Azabagic. His conducting studies at the Rotterdam Conservatory, where he earned top distinctions under maestros such as Dan Admiraal and Arie van Beek, further enriched his musical vision.
A clarinetist by training, Salinas Robles studied with Ab Vos and Walter Boeykens, graduating cum laude from the Rotterdam Conservatory. He also holds a Master’s in Music Research and a teaching qualification, both from institutions in Valencia.
His work as a performer and conductor has been recognized with several awards and honors, including the Jongen Solisten Award (Rotterdam), Second Prize at Erasmus University, and finalist placements in international competitions in Helsinki and Cartagena. His performances have been recorded and broadcast by RNE (Spanish National Radio), Canal Nou Radio, Valencian Television, and Dutch Radio.
